I want to like a picture on Facebook, how do I stop people from seeing the posts I've liked as it shows when you've liked a picture on the news feed? Thank you.

you could block those people

It will only show something you like if the photo or post is set to public, friends of friends or if you have mutual friends with the person who's post you liked. Otherwise, there's no effective way to easily block "likes". You could block a specific friend you're concerned about seeing the "like", but that's basically it.
