Is there a website that tracks new and/or popular web trends?
I would like to stay as up to date as possible new web technologies, cool sites, widgets etc. but I do not have the time to surf the internet all day. Is there a website that stays up on all the web happenings? I know many sites try to say they are the best website but I want a site who's goal it is to stay on top of new and popular trends.

This site probably knew about facebook, youtube, twitter and such before those sites became buzzwords.

So I am not looking for youtube, twitter, myspace, linkedin etc. I want the site that reports about those sites and tells its readers where to go for the newest and latest trends. It can even be more technical....so not necessarily aimed at the teenager wanting the newest thing but the web designer who wants to be in the know before their clients.

Something more succinct than a search engine - so please no google.com or yahoo.com. I am looking for a site - like I say, I don't want to have to constantly web surf.

Webtrends.com, but they charge. Search for "web analytics" - you'll find some.

StumbleUpon is a pretty cool program that allows you to choose areas(i.e. Automotive, Computer) that you are interested in and the program will find similar webpages corresponsing to the interests you have selected. This way you can find new webpages to keep up on whatever subject you need to...just search for it in google to download, it becomes a part of your browser. If you dont want a program..gizmodo.com is awesome for new tech

Wired.com and pcmag.com are good sources of new information about the Internet. Those were the first web sites where I heard about Ebay and Linux.
