Facebook pop-up notifications...?

How can I turn off these annoying pop-up notifications??..

Those that pop up in the bottom left corner of your screen, when somebody does something that has to do with you.

I still want notifications.. I just DO NOT want the pop-up notifications..

-PLEASE- tell me Facebook isn't forcing people to have that silly, dumb, blue pop-up everytime you receive a notification?

Go to your privacy settings, then choose notifications on the left. You can adjust from there what they notify you about.

If you find the pop ups annoying, you have the option to turn them off. Actually, you can turn off specific types too, so if you like seeing when someone has posted to you wall, but you don’t want to see every time you’re tagged in a photo for example, you can adjust this.

When a pop-up appears, and you click the x to close it out, it will ask you if you want to permanently turn off future notifications of that same type.
Now when you are online and get this popup just click on cross (x) of popup and customize it.
