my girlfriends facebook was hacked, and whoever done it sent abusive messages to people, told some to kill themselves and also said something sexually rude about a young child to its mother. They also wrote rude disgusting status and also calling people things too. The police were informed but however said they couldnt do something, and if it carried on then to go back to them. However, we just want to know who sent them as we can then go back to the police for more proof and also just to know to stay well away from them, and facebook isnt doing anything either. Please help! is there anyway at all? Thanks

For any account to be hacked, the password would have had to been found out.

CHANGE YOUR PASSWORD to a Strong password.

Example of a strong password that can not be hacked.

Did the hacker change the email associated with her facebook account? If not, then she can still retrieve her Facebook account. I guess internet experts can track the IP Address of the hacker each time they posts something. Facebook operators I guess can only do so much so meanwhile, tell your gf to create another fb account and re-add all the friends she got and infrom them about what happened. Good luck..

The "hacker" was probably her little brother, ex-friend, etc. Nobody "hacks" Facebook. You just leave yourself logged in and then walk away from your computer. If she uses FB in a library or other common computer, it could be anyone. Or it could be anyone who borrowed her phone.
What is extremely unlikely is someone in Croatia choosing to get into her account and send messages to her friends. That's just idiotic.

there is no way to find out who it was, and there is nothing you can do about it except change your password

however, if major laws were broken, and it is more than just "this person was being rude" you can file a police report and have the police subpoena facebook for the records of who was logged into that account at the time

but again, they will not get involved unless a serious crime has been committed, and "being rude" isnt a crime
