well he told me that he has a friend through the internet that can hack any facebook account if you give him the email address is that possible?
and how can i protect myself from that?

As Jack said, this person is definitely not your friend, however, if you consider him as such, that person probably knows a lot about you. This is how someone can hack into your Facebook account. I'm also betting that there is no "Internet friend". I'm thinking that this hacker is your friend himself.

If you give someone your email address, which is the addy you use to sign up for Facebook, with a little knowledge about you, that person can try to figure out what your password would be (like if this "friend" knows you like horses, he can try a password that has to do with horses).

Many people make the mistake of using the same password for every account and it's usually an obvious password (like "janedoe820"...which would be your name and birthday or "horselover", which would apply to the above scenario).

This is why you never give anyone, even your best friend, your password, or even an idea of what your password could be. You never know when a friend will become an ex-friend.

If Hes a Good Hacker He May Be Able to Do That There is Nothing you Can Do Really But Have Strong Passwords and Email if you Do Get Hacked Change your Password i Would Not Worry about it To Much
