Exactly how bad is the market for teachers right now?

I'm currently in college studying history and business. History is my passion and I've always loved school, so I'm considering majoring in social studies education instead of business. However, I'm extremely worried about the job market for social studies teachers. I know it may be better in 2-3 years when I graduate, but I really doubt it.

So, exactly how bad is the market for social studies teachers?

The market is fairly bad right now.. should be improving in the future though.. hope this helps!
