My Facebook friend keeps disappearing ?

On my Facebook my friend has completely disappeared from my friends list but he is still available on my Facebook messenger contacts.On his Facebook messenger his name had been changed to Facebook user and now it's back to his name ,so I'm really confused. He has no reason to block or delete me so can someone please help me out.

Either it is one of those facebook glitches that makes you think you've been blocked or deleted, or he actually has done so. To ensure it hasn't happened, try clearing the cache, cookies and logging back in. If that doesn't work, try a different web browser after clearing the cookies/cache. If you still cannot find him at all, then yes, he blocked you, or if his profile says "add as friend", he deleted you.

Maybe it could be somebody going around spreading lies or some sort or just being a troublemaker, or he did it for personal reasons, that is, if the two of you converse in real life besides on facebook.
