How can I keep certain friends from knowing when I am logged in on Facebook?
My chat is always turned off, but one or two friends always seem to know when I am on even if I have not posted, liked or commented on anything. This one guy especially! yesterday I clicked like on a post about 9/11 and immedeitely I recieved a message from him with a link attached, asking me where was I on that day. On my birthday he did not post openly as others did to wish me a happy birthday, he sent a private message instead.. I would not want to delete someone for the wrong reasons, but he is sort of creeping me out a bit. Can anyone tell me if there is a way to keep him from seeing when I am logged on?
Forgot to mention, I have put him on the restricted list. I just need to know for future reference how to deal with this. Or if I should delete him altogether.

If he is on restricted he shouldn't see anything but public now. Not even likes.
Its either restricted or blocked. Blocked is like deleted in that neither of you see anything of the other. The person doesn't know. In restricted they will probably figure it out, but you could always say...FB...what a pain.

You need to go to your chat and right click, click on the advance settings, select chat off option to certain people and add him to the list.
