how to post a response to twitter trending topics?

How do you post responses to trending topics on twitter, i have a mac computer, thought id give twitter a try

Just include the hashtag for the topic, whatever it may be; anyone searching for that topic will be able to see your tweet if it's public. (If you haven't seen a hashtag, it's the # sign, and it goes in front of the topic: today, for instance, there was #dullesthorrormoviesever.)
