Would it be a bad idea to add my dad on facebook?
Thinking about adding my dad on facebook since I have his girlfriend other relatives on my page but like a few of my relatives and his girlfriend they rarely go on facebook.

I wouldn't do it unless your dad says you have to. Same goes for any other adult members of your family. The problem with doing it is that no matter how careful you are, sooner or later you (or a friend) will slip up and they will see something they don't like, and you will get in trouble.

I'll be honest on this one; I have both my parents, a teacher I used to have, a other family relatives (cousins, aunties etc..), and some of my parents' friends. I wouldn't say it's a bad idea, but you gotta be even more careful on what you post and what you like, comment etc.. on Facebook. If needed, you can add your Dad on your account then make a new one without him finding out. It's a risky, yet hard procedure, but can be effective.

You can put your dad in Restricted list so he can only see your public post. Thus said, you can do 'naughty' thing to share only with Friends; do you "good boy/girl" things set to Public for your dad's consumption to know his boy/girl.
