How do i remove a person from being on my facebook?

I have a facebook acct.Today i went to my chat and saw a list of all my ppl i chat with.But theres one on there that i never accepted any request from nor do i know them?I typed there name in to block them but it says nothing found.I want to remove them completely from the list.I did turn off chat from them,but how do i take them off?

if it says nothing found they're most likely deactivated or even perhaps they blocked you. If you can actually get to his/her profile click on unfriend and go to settings on the far right of his profile and click block. If he harasses you, click report and fill out your reason. Hope I helped!
