Can the cops track down a fake profile on the internet?
Let's say somebody make a fake profile of me and saying nasty crap about me or say lies about me. Can that person's IP get tracked down?

The IP address can be traced down by just a private person. But it ain't easy.
The cops have other things to do than trace down all the fake profiles. But why not send a report to Facebook, and they'll look it up. Ads |

Yes they can get tracked down quite easily if there is sufficient reason to do this.

they wont get involved unless a serious crime has been committed, but then the court can subpoena faecbook for the IP information
