why are my facebook friends getting less?
every time i check my friends list it's getting less
yesterday i had 1551 and now i have 1548.. how on earth does this happen? my friends can't be deleting me all the time

accounts are getting suspended for breaking rules like creating more than one account

That is a LOT of friends. And thats only three people disappearing. So assume one person defriended you, one deactivated their account, and one got theirs suspended.
Problem solved

I don't think you should really care if you have that many Facebook friends. I started deleting mine when the number exceeded 300 after recovering my hacked account. I used to think it would be 'cool' to have thousands of friends, but I later realised it just floods your news feed with posts from those people who you don't even know (unless you've set your preferences otherwise; in which case, why even add them as your friends?).
