Facebook cover photo comments privecy?

I understand that my cover photo is Public and can't be changed by me, but it seems all comments about my cover photo are also Public, even though my default setting for comments is set to "Friends only". I know I can't change the cover photo to "Friends only", but can I do something about the comments appearing to "Public" so strangers won't see who comment and what they wrote?
