Is Social Media Destroying Our Society?
Im doing an essay on how social media is destroying our society. I think it does but our essay needs to be 3 or 4 pages long. Im almost at three. So i was wondering if anyone had any ideas to put in to make it longer and better? I need facts. Thanks Big Grin

Personally, I think its the people using it that are destroying society.

You can just turn on E! news and see that. There are several different celebrity disasters you can bring out.
Example 1: When you flip on the TV screen, it's plastered with 'beautiful' women with stick figure shapes and long hair that flows around their back. True, most of it is just makeup, weave, and the magic of Photoshop, however, how many people actually sit back and think about that? All they see in front of them is flawless beauty, and then they look at themselves in the mirror. Of course, beauty comes in all different shapes, sizes, and skin tones, however some people may think that because they don't look like that model in the commercial or on the magazine they're ugly. Social media breaks down a lot of already insecure people.

Example 2: Celebrities switch partners so much you'd think they were doing a hay dance. Kim Kardashian's marriage lasted a mere 72 days. And crazily, some celebrities' marriages lasted even shorter than that! Flip on E! news and all you hear is gossip about celebrities: and their scandals. Celebrities are terrible role models, and yet, be that as it may, some idolize them and want to be them. Social media is ruining society.

Example 3: Online sites such as Facebook and Twitter are taking over peoples' lives. Now people are actually obsessed with such things, and their obsessions get in the way of their time spent with family and friends. They even created a phone designed for the purpose of accessing Facebook quickly and easily! Social media hasn't just crossed the line: it's gone over the cliff.
