I give up on Twitter?

Hi, I've had a Twitter account since 2011 and I don't get why but I just can't gain any more followers. I literally only have like 15 followers, a majority of which are people that I actually know... I have about 50 people that I follow (which are all celebrities/iconic people). I have about 500 tweets (I don't tweet much) but I don't post anything irrelevant that would make people get tired of me (like GUESS WHAT I'M EATING CAKE ITS YUMMY or anything like) but I have gotten into the habit of always retweeting or replying to tweets from people I follow. I try to get iconic people to follow me but I can't even get regular people to follow so its generally useless to me afterwards..

I've tried everything but no matter how much I keep up with it on my iPhone, I can't ever seem to gain new followers. I feel like people don't follow me because they see how many followers I have and instantly think I'm just boring. (Maybe I am..) Is there any ways I could get more people to follow or am I just S.O.L? Because I feel like I've tried just about everything there is to offer on Twitter. What do you think? Should I get rid of my account? Any constructive criticism? I could use some help here and though its nothing important, its just something that bothers me.
I don't want to see any rude/offensive answers and/or comments. This is something I'm concerned about and would like some real answers. You will just be reported.

If you could provide a link to where I can contact Twitter and have my account permanently deleted. (If this is possible) that would be appreciated.

Damn 15?! that's rough lol. Tell all of your friends that you have twitter and start following more people that go to your school and community. There is a section in twitter, kinda like face book that says "people you maybe know" depending on who you follow and follow you. Other than that idk dudee. Hmm.. (Thinking).... Do your friends have other social media sites that they use instead like Facebook or Instagram? If more of your friends use a different social network I say screw twitter and go to that. Also, do you live in like the middle of no where? Lol where ever there is a large sum of a community I would just follow them. I think I Just said that but I'm stoned lol. Also try tweeting MORE. Having 500 since 2011 is nothing. Try tweeting ten times a day AND USE HASHTAGS but don't over do them. That's all I got. Good luck mate.
