Why am I so unphotogenic?
Like most girls when iv got my makeup on and everything I look pretty. I look in the mirror.. I look good.... I go to take a picture ... wtf?
It sounds trivial, but its actually really become a problem. Iv not got facebook because I dont want to get tagged in pictures because I can guarantee ill look like crap in 9 out of 10 of them. I never let my bf take a photo of me or have any photos with him. And its sad because obviously I want photos for the memories to look back on. And obviously I want to be on Facebook and Twitter etc... is there anyway to overcome this? I feel like it's become a real problem. Ads |

You are too hard on yourself. Your stress and anxiety over having your picture taken affects the picture which is taken. Next time, smile at your boyfriend who does not see these flaws, not the camera and notice the difference.

yes you have a lack of self confidence. Perception of one self is often skewed by ones life experiences.
I recommend you book a session with a proffesional photoghrapher ( help me im dyslexic) and have a photo session. you could booka makeup artist befor hand too and ask her/him to give you a natural look. i recon your stunning and you either dont get your makeup right or just look at yourself in the wrong light. I look in the mirror and think hey handsome you look good. then when i see photo i look pale and fat and older than my 31 years... so i changed the lightbubl in my bathroom and now i look pale and fat in the mirror too. problem solved. ha ha haaaa |

the best answer is dont worry about it. The people whose opinions you care about most are the people close to you and they know what you look like in real life so don't worry about what you look like in pictures. The memories you make are far more important then the opinions of people who need to judge your pics to boost thier own confidence.
So theres the philosophical answer haha but as far as improving how you look in pictures just don't try to look good. Quick example when i play guitar, if i look at my fingers and think about what im doing i mess it up but if i just let my fingers do thier thing i play much better. Your self-consciousness reflects in the picks let your confidence shine through instead. Or make goofy faces everybody likes a goofy girl who can have a good time. |
