Privacy for my facebook status not working. Please advise!?

My status on facebook is customized, I choose "Friends" then "Hide this from" and have a list of certain people that I do not want to see the post. (Sometimes my mom, etc) I was so confident it was the right way to do it, today I made a post and some of the people that I have under the "hide this from" liked my post! So I added a friend to that list and asked him to go to his facebook and he can see my status even when he is not supossed to. What am I doing wrong? I googled it and looks like I did the right thing but is not working. Any help would be highly appreciated. Thank You!!

You can take a look yourself at how others see your facebook page. Go to the little lock next to your name on the top right of the facebook page. Then, go to "Who can See My Stuff". The, go to "What do other people see on my timeline? and you can choose how to see it, "View As", etc.

What I would recommend is to go through each of your friends and select "restricted" for those you wish to limit the viewing from. The restricted ones will only be able to see the "public" posts. The rest will see your "friends" post.

Easy fix! But takes time to go through the friends list.
