Facebook notifications freaking out?

So I don't know if this is a glitch or if somebody did something to my account, but I'm receiving Facebook notifications from all my friends and all their updates as if I were subscribed/following them... I want to change it back to the way it was before when I would only get notifications involving me. Any ideas? Thanks a bunch.

1) Deactivate your Facebook account.
2) Go see what the sun looks like.

Go to your friend's facebook timeline. At the top, you should see a check mark and the word friend. If you have a star and then the word friend, that means you marked them as your best friend. If that's the problem, click on it and then click the one with just a check mark. That should do it.

Go to privacy settings click on the notification tab.
Adjust the settings accordingly as per your desire.
