Advice on using Twitter?

I've been on Twitter since 2009, I have 135 followers, I follow 293 people and have posted 5100 tweets. I post about general things in my life from music to tv to food however I can't seem to get any more followers, I've been stuck between 120-135 followers since 2010. How can I get more followers?

I also feel like I am talking to myself 90% of the time, I get about 1 reply to a tweet per month if I am lucky, I also reply to others tweets but its rare its even acknowledged, is this normal?

1. Make sure your profile is complete with an avatar that shows your face and a solid bio.

2. Tweet well & tweet often and people will follow you.

3. Follow people who follow people that are like you.

4. Ask people to retweet you.

5. Search for tweets with keywords related to your topics of interest.

6. Use hashtags.

7. Regularly unfollow people who haven't followed you back.

8. Repeat your most popular tweets.
