Is it weird to message someone on facebook instead of chatting them?

If u want to try to talk to someone you like but they aren't online when u are, is it considered weird to send them a message instead of chatting them?

No, why would it be.
It's sort of the same thing, isn't it?
Either way, online or offline they're still recieving your messages and probably answering them.
It's just not instant but it's normal.

It's exactly the same thing. There is no difference between chatting when there online. Or messaging them when there offline.

No because its basically the same thing. And I've never found it weird because anytime I get a message I'm excited and don't even look to see when it was sent
