What's your response to the Right Wing media trying to portray a guy who inherited a majority of shares in a?
construction company with a Market Cap of over $1.5 Billion, and who then went on to adopt a self-serving Libertarian world-view under-pinned by Social Darwinist ideologies as "a regular working class guy"?
Alan - I'm referring to Paul Ryan.

Typical conservative dishonesty.
Inherited wealth is a great gift. I have nothing but contempt for those who are blessed with this gift and choose to adopt attitudes such as yo mention.

Ever get the impression that democrats who ask questions like this are desperately trying to hide what democrats are doing to America?

About 90 years ago democrat President Wilson (1913-1918) presented the democrat party’s Agenda in broad terms, saying “You are not here merely to make a living. You are here to enable the world to live more amply, with greater vision, and with a finer spirit of hope and achievement. You are here to enrich the world. You impoverish yourself if you forget this errand.” He may have been the first democrat to realize the value of multiculturalism (“If it ain’t American, it’s good!”) in deconstructing America, saying, “No nation is fit to sit in judgment upon any other nation.” Obama put it this way: "Every nation is exceptional in its own way."

Democrat President Roosevelt (1933-1945) articulated the Agenda in his speech before Congress on January 11, 1944:
“We have accepted, so to speak, a second Bill of Rights...” which included:
-The right to earn enough to provide adequate food and clothing and recreation
-The right of every family to a decent home
-The right to adequate medical care and the opportunity to achieve and enjoy good health
-The right to adequate protection from the economic fears of old age, sickness, accident, and unemployment.

The Agenda advanced hugely with LBJ’s Great Society. Obama’s “Hope and Change” is a Great Leap Forward.

The Agenda is? To change America into a European style welfare state.

Democrats overwhelmingly support it:
-2/4/10 Gallup poll: 61% of liberals have a positive view of socialism.
-6/2/11 Gallup poll: 71% of democrats favor re-distributing wealth.
-Now they have national health care, the foundation of all welfare and socialist states.

Don’t like the Constitution? Vote democrat.
-----------------
And of course, there is no "leftwing media," right?

Polls on how Americans saw the mainstream media (TV and print) election coverage in 2008:
-Rasmussen poll: 69% for Obama, 6% for McCain
-Pew Research poll: 67% for Obama, 11% for McCain
-Sacred Heart University poll: 68% for Obama, 9% for McCain
-Fox News/Opinion Dynamics poll: 67% for Obama, 11% for McCain

University of Connecticut’s Department of Public Policy survey of journalists, nationwide, during the 2008 election: 52% supported Obama versus 19% for McCain.

8/27/10 The Examiner: “Obama and Democrats got 88% of 2008 contributions by TV network execs, writers, reporters”: Senior executives, on-air personalities, producers, reporters, editors, writers and other self-identifying employees of ABC, CBS and NBC contributed more than $1 million to Democratic candidates and campaign committees in 2008. Democratic total of $1,020,816 was given by 1,160 employees of the three major broadcast television networks, with an average contribution of $880. By contrast, only 193 of the employees contributed to Republican candidates and campaign committees, for a total of $142,863.

Conservatism is not self serving. Just the fact that you say that shows that you have no understanding of conservatism.

btw...Jesus was the original conservative and taught the principles of conservatism in helping the poor and needy in society
