Is hacking into a friend's facebook account illegal? Details below?
So I have a group of "friends" who are friends with this one guy. They hacked his account. His password was saved through google search history on a laptop, and that's how the group retrieved the password. Would hacking it this way be considered illegal? Also, after they hacked into it, they changed some basic information (like religion, name, etc.) and they changed the profile pic to a fat micropenis.

that's not really hacking... it is more of a question of being morally wrong. But no, altering someone's Facebook is hardly considered illegal.

Hacking into a facebook account (or any other private account) is technically a crime in most states. If it is determined that the source of your information is from your illegal hacking, you could be prosecuted by the state.
Hacking is morally wrong.Hacking an account they cheated that person. More than that changing his personel information is not at all good. Please say him to not repeat this.

Well, even though that's a dumbass move, (both saving your password and changing the info) it's still "illegal". It's one of those laws where the cops don't even bother to notice. Your friend got pranked and it's his fault. But yeah, it's "illegal" (frowned upon).

Oh and also, if they call that "hacking", I just... Ugh. People.
