Promoting site using social networks?
With the advent of Facebook, Twitters and all these "social networks", I believe it is possible to use them as promotional means for a given website. But how do we do it? What are the marketing "tricks" used there?

The "trick" no longer works since 100,000 people are using them. You "join" as many sites as possible. You act like any other "member" but you constantly post links to the website or product that you want to promote.
Instead of spending $500 for a newspaper advertisement, you have spent zero. Everyone who clicks on your link has been "tricked".

JR, its all about exposure, plain and simple.

These social media networks have the ability to connect you to millions of people. It is great if you are an upcoming musician or a new business launching a new product line.

However the hardest part is driving traffic to these social media sites

You may have a twitter page, youtube account, facebook fan page for your business. But if you have no followers, fans or viewers, it is essentially useless.

Luckily there is a solution to this. I actually used it for my own company's fan page and twitter profile. It's called WantFans.com, there a social media marketing site that gets you fans, youtube views, twitter followers- you name it! Check it out for yourself.

good luck!
