Can I re-add someone on Facebook without them knowing?

I deleted someone on Facebook earlier because I was mad at them. Long story short, we're okay now, but they don't know I deleted them from Facebook. Can I add them back to my list without them knowing if I was the the one to originally delete them?

Unfortunately Facebook does not allow a user to friend another person unless that person accepts the friend request, even if they were friends previously. That way, security is in place so you don't get spammers adding themselves to your friends list without your authorization. If you send the friends request, they will get notification and would have to choose to accept or ignore your request.
