How old do you have to be to add your old teacher on Facebook?

I am 16 and have left school and I want to add my old tutor on facebook. We get on really well and she wants to stay in touch too. I think she would add me, as she has no embarrassing photos of her out partying, as she's married with a child and hardly has any pictures on. So my question is, how long do you have to wait after leaving school to add them? She also became friends with an ex pupil of hers when the girl was 18, so I know she adds ex students, as she has 2/3 as her friends.

Tbqh, I think that this is still some sort of paedophilia act. However, I am guessing as soon as your 18, do as you want.

There is no rule. If you're old enough to be on Facebook, you're old enough to invite anyone else who is ALSO old enough to be on Facebook.
Remember though: it's up to her to decide to accept or not. Many people decide NOT to accept, for a number of reasons that have nothing to do with you personally. So if she doesn't respond, or responds with 'no', don't be upset. You can always email her, or even - gasp! - write her a card from time to time.
