Reddit is a great way to talk to people who have similar interests to you and a good way to find content tailored to your liking, I personally love it.

Google Plus seems to be getting a little more popular and has many users now.

Also, although I don't use it, I have heard Tumblr is a good place to get to know some people.

I still use Tumblr aswell, Deviantart is a good place to be too if you draw a lot.

Very good Angel you got there before me.All young people ,and one or two older ones, now can only think about is electronic contact which is cold, impersonable and sometimes dangerous.Go out,say "Hello, I'm John or Mary or whatever " and you may be surprised by the friendly response.
