I want more likes and comments on my private instagram account?

Ok so, I made my instagram account un-private for a day. And i liked all the likes and comments i got. But you see my mom doesn't want my account un-private -_-. She doesn't want random people following me. I don't either, but i really want more likes and comments. I want to make it to the popular page. I've tried using hashtags and they really helped But then my aunt said supposedly putting alot of hashtags messes up my ipod -_- whatever. Anyway, there has to be someway i can get more likes and comments.. Any help??? Or how can i get more followers?

well what i do is i put my interests in my bio, for instance.. i like green day, pierce the veil etc. love horses, live in *your country* .... and then go to the search hashtag thing on the pop page (this is for the app btw) and type in one of your interests as a tag, than click on the button that makes all the photos i to just one row, and go through like all of them!! (when i say all i mean as many as you can, like 200 or something) and when they see that you've liked their pic, they *may* go to your profile and see the similar interest and follow you it has really worked for me and another one (that i dont really recommend tbh) is go through and follow like 100 people and they will probs follow you back, the only thing with this is that you arw now following a heap of people that you've never heard of and you just get all their random junk in your newsfeed :L
