Cos they want to see what cute guys are up to.
Usually teens that do that. (Not all because I'm 15, I have a mixture of both)

Well, it may be that some girls just have a lot of guy friends who happen to be on Facebook or maybe some girls don't feel like they are good enough to actually have friends who are guys in real life (which is completely un-true) and they make up for that by having online friends. It takes some pressure off. Again, those are just my thoughts. Hope this helped your curiosity!!!!
