can I limit facebook friends before accepting?

I want to add someone but not letting him/her see all of my facebook stuff.
'Cause if I send friend request and edit the privacy AFTERWARDS he/she will be able to see all of my facebook material in the between.

Can I send request and edit the privacy preferences before he/she accepts my friend request??

hope this is understandable, long story short, I want to be able to add someone and exluding the possability of him/her exploring everything I have on facebook, burt I dont know how?
