email account spammed/hacked?
hi, basically i woke up to a few emails from mailer-daemon with message send failure. my friend had this before but he was also tweeting spam on his twitter account wheras mine is just my emails at the moment. I only use this email on trustworthy sites like facebook, youtube and xbox. i dont use dodgy websites and i never click any ads or whatever. the only thing i can think of is that i accidently clicked a link from from a fbook page post (a 'bit' link). i looked at my recent yahoo activity and it was logged into from poland so its definately had something done to it. i have changed the password but is there anything else i should do?

thanks Smile

If you don't have any other odd behavior going on in your email once you changed your password, then you should be fine. If not, I would go to a place like Best Buy and Geek Squad to help you with the hacks.

Hello, it you were indeed hacked then........................

Account hacked
Hackers, when they get into your system, like to change your settings, so change your password, run your antivirus and go to tools on it and have it clean system. Clean all cookies, (see below). Then start going through your account settings, all your folders, and filters. Also check your contacts and all the settings there. If you cannot receive any mails then on the inbox page on the upper right Go to gear icon click on it and choose messenger options, then privacy, uncheck box that says to block all users not in my contact list.

Check your email filters. You'll want to ensure that they haven’t been changed directing certain emails to an unexpected place. To view your filters, click the gear icon in the upper-right corner of the page, and select Mail Options from the menu that appears (in Mail Classic, this is Options | Mail Options). Then select Filters from the options on the left.

go to the gear icon on the top right of inbox page and click on it and choose mail options, check all the boxes there to see if any have been changed.
