Is stalking someone on facebook illegal?

I haven't added them or posted on any pics or on their wall, I just made a fake account and look at there profile daily well I use to I don't anymore. it was an old friend we fell out in a bad way and I just wanted to see what she was up to.

Stalking is stalking, regardless of the method used, but it depends on the laws where you live. I really don't think you have any worries, unless this person files a complaint though.

It's not illegal to look at a website in the U.S., as long as there's nothing illegal on that website (if you're friend isn't posting child porn or something like that, you're good).
