Is this a good coming out of the closet facebook post?
I just did something very risky. I came out on facebook. Literally just a few seconds ago and now everybody's commenting nice stuff and sending me ncie messages. I didn't do it for attention, no. I did it because I think I should make everything clear. And be an example that being gay is not something to hide because that's who I am and that's the truth. There was nothing I could do about it. I felt brave so I did it, but now I'm having second thoughts. What if there will be people who'd come to hate me tomorrow? Anyway, this is what I wrote.

I guess the point of this is not to let people know who I really am, because I'm aware I've gotten quite obvious lately- but to show people that I happily accept who I am. I don't feel the need to explain because this thing is as normal as leaves changing colors in the fall or you getting insane to the extremes when the internet connection cuts off. My friends and family know, but there are still those are just might still be a little confused. Most of my friends and family are excited about it. My mother was not so shocked when I told her, of course. She was there all the time I preferred to play with dolls than toy cars when I was little. I'm aware that everybody has an opinion of their own and I'd always be respectful about that. I wouldn't call myself gay because that word is often used as a term of hate or disgust in our society. I would call myself as a boy who likes boys- it sounds cuter that way.

Is it neutral? Does it sound like I'm looking for attention? Because I really don't. My goal was to come out and act as if it's nothing. But honestly, it's making me tremble a little biut right now.

I think you can be proud, and an example to those who might find themselves in a similar situation. Doing this on Facebook enables you to state who you are to everyone who knows you, without having to do so over and over again, and without having to try to find a way to bring it up to everyone, Now they know, and it's not a big deal. I don't think it comes across as attention-seeking at all. All the best to you.
