How do I know if someone declined my friend request on Facebook?

Or how do I know if they just left it alone without doing anything. Can someone please tell me all the possible scenarios that are possible. I mean there are more options this time than in the past years so I want to understand the mechanism.

No you can't..

If they declined it, then when you visit their profile the Add Friend option will be there again.

If they have done nothing to it then it will say friend request sent on their page still
