Anyone else getting random Facebook friend requests?

This afternoon I got a random Facebook friend request from a girl with an "attractive" profile picture, who I don't know, with no mutual friends. (I've had random requests before but I always found some reason, like we went to the same school or liked the same obscure band or something.)
It seemed kind of weird so I mentioned it to my friend, and she said she'd got one too. Hers was from a different woman, but also with a picture of a pretty woman. We noticed both the account were made only a couple hours ago. Neither had any location or info, but they each had a handful of photos and a seemingly random collection of a few friends.
This seems a bit suspicious to me (not to be too conspiracy theorist, though, lol) so I'm wondering if anyone else has seen this, or knows what it might be?

I get those all the time and immediately delete them. Always a pretty girl, always a new account so you just know it is trouble. Classic scam material.

i Get Random Ones From Time to Time i Just Dont Approve them And Delete The Requests So If you Dont Want to Connect With Them Than Do That

I keep getting friend requests from people in Spain and Mexico but I just don't accept them...
If you accept them or don't I think a question pops up like, ''Do you know this person'' ..that might help ..but I don't know what it does
