HOW CAN I GET TEXTS FROM TWITTER?

Hi, my friend gets texts sent from twitter to her mobile when her favourite celebrity tweets. I was wondering how that happens, i have tried but i end up getting notifications from twitter through the internet and not through sms.

1.) Go to "settings"
2.) You'll see on the left a column that says:
Account
Password
Mobile
Email Notifications etc.
3.) Click on "Mobile"
4.) Enter your phone number (it'll ask you to verify your number through a text)
5.) Check of the notifications you want to receive. (Direct messages, followers, or people you have enabled etc)
6.) Go to the profile of the celebrity you want to receive notifications from (make sure you verified your number through the text that I mentioned earlier)
7.)To the left of the celebrity's "follow" button, you'll see a little button with a head on it.
8.) Click that button, then select "turn on mobile notifications"
Continue steps 6-8 for whichever celebrity/account that you want to receive notifications from!
