Can you search for your self on instagram?

Every time I do a search for myself using my first and last name on instagram the results only pull up other guys with the same names but not me. I have an emoticon in my last name field but that doesnt seem to affect searches for other people. This is confusing me. Even if I remove the emoticon it still doesn't pull me up. I want people who know me to be able to find me.

Yeah. You have to search your username not you're actual name though.
