I keep seeing this guy like photos on facebook?

So we kind of had a thing but we both moved on from it but whenever I go on someones photo for example,lets say his name is "John" and then on someones picture it would say like John,Katherine,July liked this photo...And its not even on one photo like nearly every picture I look at I see his name and it upsets me because he never liked my pictures...So if someone could tell me how to hide his name on pictures that he liked that would be great
I do not want to block him.

just go to his timeline
their just blocked him
so u will not be able to see him or his pics. in future.

You can't. But what you can do is shoot him a message and ask him to stop. You can make him into a limited friend and block him from future posts. Here's how:
