How do you get more likes for a post on a Facebook Page without paying?

A friend and I started a page three years ago called Thanks for hurting me. It started out very well, got good feedback and many people liked the things we posted. At that time, the posts and status updates were reaching everyone's news feed. After a while, especially this year.. I started noticing less likes or activity. The amount of likes just for popularity doesn't really matter to me. I don't spam or post pointless things. I want it to be about quality, yet I still want people to at least notice the likes and updates I am updating. This is what we started the page for after all. I don't want a ridiculously amount of likes, just enough to know it was reached. Otherwise, I feel like the page is pointless... In order for it to reach more people - I have to pay. That doesn't seem really fair. So is there a way of Facebook fixing this, or is something off in my setting? I'm not sure. If you know a way, let me know? Thanks
