Friendship request rejected on Facebook, what should I do?
So I joined this social soccer club hoping to meet new people, I met one guy there (I'm male, straight) and we talked for a bit and had a lot in common, I asked him for his number hoping to grab a drink later, he gave it to me and told me he would add me on Facebook.

A week later, he hasn't added me and when I go to add him he declines, I knew he declined as it came up with 'Add friend' again instead of 'Request sent'. How should I react to this? I am now reluctant to even try meeting new people because of what happened.

Don't worry about it. Some people don't want new friends.
Find someone else to hang out with. If it doesn't work, what's the big deal?

Maybe he don't remember you or recognize your name & profile pic? Or just plain "don't want to friend with you in FB"? Hard to tell.

If you want to still befriend with him, send him a message instead. Don't hope to much though as he might not check his Other folder.

Anyhow, don't think to hard, if he is not interested to be your friend, no need to think it over or ask "why", maybe better that way than pretend to be your friend.

I Would Move on If He Declined the Request Maybe He Does Not Want to Be Facebook Friends Right now Or Maybe He Doesint Remember Seeing you Try Sending him a Message and Remind Him of Who you Are If That Doesint Work Than Just Move on
