Can anyone explain me, how to use Twitter?

I dont get what is it? like whenever i open a profile....ther are some comments written e.g. '@carol28 thanx for all your love :-)
about 14 hours ago from web in reply to carol28' what does the @ means? like is it a reply from another account? or what ?
so I need to know that how can i interact (chat) with other ppl? and if i post any messg is it gonna display on all of my friends account?

@ is like saying im replying at this person. so when you see someone with like an @ in their post it means they're replying to something that person is saying.

RT @ a person means someone is 're tweeting' someone elses post eg copying and pasting it. if you need anymore help follow me on twitter

'@carol28 thanx for all your love' means that you are saying 'To: carol28, thanx for your love'. @=To (somebody).
Ex. '@vhusf i love you' means 'To: vhusf, i love you'

@ means as a reply to someone's tweet...

all ur followers will get ur tweet...not those whom only you are following..... u will be able to read those people's tweets whom u r following..

It was designed to allow your friends to know where you were and what you were doing but it has turned into a contest to see who can collect the highest number of groups. It is a bit like Yahoo Answers - anyone can get an answer from Wikipedia or Google but they prefer to come here to ask people who have no credibility or experience. No really good logical reason, but they do it.

What is really meant was giving an update to 'whats up?' from your end. Whenever you update your twitter status, it shows up on the status pages of your friends.

By using twitter you could keep people in loop of what you are doing at different times of the day, or share information about websites and stuff with them.
