Why is instagram deleting so many accounts?

how's about they free up space by deleting all the spam bots that promise you hundreds of followers by going to their website or using their tags. That is seriously what's ruining Instagram.

Well, instagram has a "Hacker" and they are going threw accounts and they may hack yours and all that stuff. I just heard to take a photo that is filtered. No risks!!! Stupid people these days, so ya.

A clever hacker sent a virus into Instagram's system causing accounts to get deleted. Instagram is currently working on fixing the glitch and protecting accounts. The best thing everyone can do to prevent their accounts from being deleted is take a photo on your own, set it as your profile photo, and delete your bio. That includes website URL, name, and the bio itself. Stay safe everyone! BTW I STRICTLY RECOMMEND YOU DO NOT LOG OUT.

Well their deleting inactive accounts. Pretty much everyone who has commented here was active, but got deleted:/ Yeah I'm in that boat. It pretty much sucks dude. To be honest, they should have deleted the accounts that have no pictures/fake accounts that bribe you with more followers if you go to the website they suggest. Dang...it really sucks.

I was deleted. I never used the instagram camera BC it took way to long to respond. I always used my phones camera and then uploaded them to instagram. I'm upset BC these were MY photos. I never posted anyone else's photos I just didn't use their stupid camera. Oh and my acct was private.

You have to post pictures from the Instagram camera. All of my friends accounts were deleted. So I got scared and posted a bunch of pics from the Instagram camera and you also have to do an effect. And you also have to tag @dontdeletemyig and you should also hashtag #dontdeletemyig. Accounts might be deleting becuase of technical difficulties from Instagram, that's what people are saying. My theory is that someone is hacking Instagram and is making this whole thing up for attention and deleting people's instagrams. Good luck!
