How come I can still see my Ex BF's "liked" posts on Facebook?

Hello, I am a little confused.
My Ex boyfriend and I decided to be strangers.
So, I took him off my Facebook list because it will be easier for me to find closure between us.
Him and I share some interests, and I am interested in these punk/rock music.
I go onto the page and I see his name under (friends who liked this page) and it is him who is "liking" this page.
I don't understand the reason, I can still his name pop up in some pages. =(
Is it because he used to be a Facebook friend in the past?
