When you share Facebook statuses with specific people?
When you write a status on Facebook and you set privacy settings on that status, such as "friends, friends of friends" or certain people, can other people see you've done that?

I want to write a status, but only set it for a few people to see. Will they be able to see that I've just set it for them by hovering over the icon next to the status?

Only reason I am asking is when I see people's statuses, I see a small earth icon and it says "Public" but some say "Shared with: Joe's friends" etc.

If I set a status and share it with one particular person, if they hover over the icon will it say "Shared with: (that person) ?

If you want to share something with only one person, don't post it. Send it as a private message. If you are worried about Facebook privacy, send an email.
