why cant i make a new instagram?

i wanted a new instagram so i logged out of mine and clicked on sign up and filled in all the necessary fields and everything
but when i click on sign up on the top it says its registering but then its as if i pressed my home button because i am no longer in the app but home
i've tried different emails and everything and turning off my iphone but nothing is working......please help?
