Which Social Science degree concentration do you think is best, Psychology or Sociology?
1. I would like to be a teacher (high school or middle school), so I'm wondering which concentration would help with that, but...
2. I'm also wondering which would be more helpful in the job market if I decide not to teach.
3. Also, I'm a creative writer, so I'm wondering which concentration would be more helpful for that.

Thanks for your opinion

For your creative writing abilities, Psychology would be a nice concentration to have. High Schools and middle schools may also have a need for an AP Psychology Teacher or a school counselor. With a Bachelor's in Psychology you could qualify for entry-level positions in Mental Health care facilities, hospitals, and non-profit organizations. Many corporations like to hire Psychology majors (Industrial Psychology). I would definitely say Psychology, with maybe a minor in Sociology if you can afford to do that. Both fields are closely related to each other, but I think Psychology is a little more respected and marketable than Sociology, although I think Sociology is just as important and fascinating as Psychology.

Since you want to work with adolescences I would recommend a psychology degree because the focus is more on individual human behavior, oppose to the study of sociology which concentrates on group behavior. besides psychology kind of cover both areas, two birds one stone. as far as your writing skills are concerned, its beneficial either way, this will work in your favor regardless of which study you chose. good luck........
