Why does LinkedIn take so long to load?

LinkedIn takes a significant amount more time to load than Facebook or Twitter. What could be the reason for this? It's a much less popular site, so it's strange to see.
@LinkedInHelp - It's cross browser (noticeably slower load times than Twitter). It's on my work network that I'm noticing it, but at home I have encountered it as well. Both networks are quick enough that i'm certain that's not the problem.

I don't have any significant slowness when loading the website. Does this happen to you on more than one internet connection or just in one place (like home or work)? Have you tried an alternate web browser to see if that fixes the issue? Also, clearing your browser cache can help.
