Facebook isn't like ye olde myspace, you're supposed to actually know the person in real life. so, another way of wording your question would be "how can i make many friends in real life?" well go out more, socialise with people, do interesting stuff. Then you can add them on FB later. Adding strangers is just creepy and makes you look like a popularity whore.

I would recommend making friends the old fashion way THEN adding them to your Facebook. I can't speak for others but I know that if someone I don't know either personally or through friends adds me on FB I never accept their request! It's creepy. Don't be creepy

1.Put yourself out there. To make friends you have to meet people, lots of people. If you're new in the community, branch out from just meeting people at your new school or job. Instead, check out local bulletin boards for activities that are going on locally. Attend one of the events and start talking to people.

2.Be friendly. When meeting new people, remember to smile, maintain eye contact and give a firm, but not overly aggressive, handshake. Be confident. Overly introverted behavior can come across as snobbish or standoffish.

3.Find common interests. Mention a few of your hobbies to see who shares the same interests. If someone does, build on that. However, if no one shares your interest, move on. Remember not to get discouraged and keep trying.

4.Listen to people. Pay attention to the people you're meeting. See each as a prospective new friend with a specific area of interest. Try to find out what interests each person. People appreciate it when others truly care about shared concerns and interests.

5.Have a small party. Host a get-together at your house. It can be as big or small as you like. Provide drinks and snacks, as well as a few movies or games to prevent any getting-to-know-you awkward interludes.

6.Wait to receive an invitation to hang out. If you have been the only one initiating contact, wait for your new friends to call. This will also give you an opportunity to meet your friends' inner circle. Hopefully, a few may eventually become your friends as well.

7.Rest assured. You're on your way to finding yourself a great group of friends!
