Random facebook messages from ppl i dont know?

So i get friend requests from girls that i dont know that have like 3 mutual friends and once i accept their request, five minutes later i get messages saying "Hey hows it going? Shoot i have to get off now, but text me later at ********" Does anyone else get those? Is it spam or something or is it really some person?

yes , it's a scam I get those all the time!
Don't accept people you don't know.

It's spam. There's a lot of those on Facebook at the moment. All fakes.

I don't like to accept requests from people I don't know. I was told its not a good idea.

that's webcam girl spam, dude - dont fall for it

they are trying to lead you to their pay website so they can steal your personal information and make money from you

this type of thing has been going on for years on more websites than just facebook
