Why am I not receiving Facebook confirmation email?

I tried registering to Facebook, but I did not receive the confirmation email. I clicked several times on the "resend email" button. I checked the spam folder. Still nothing. I've been waiting for 2 hours now. Is this a normal delay? Could their system be misbehaving?
SOLVED: I have a gmail email, and they modified the interface. Instead of receiving all new messages in my usual inbox, some were redirected to other inboxes. The Facebook email was received in my new "Social" inbox.

The problem was that I didn't know I had other inboxes until I noticed the tabs above my usual inbox.

I have only gotten, and heard of, confirmations from Facebook sent as text messages to cellphones. I never even knew they were sent as emails.

No normally it takes few seconds. When there are problems with servers maybe a bit more but not so much.

Control your email address if it is correct, unless you can ask to their customer service
